Rob Holding: The Calm In The Back Line
There’s a steadiness to how he handles pressure that spreads through the team.
Instead of chasing every movement, he keeps shape, tracks runners and wins the moment with timing. When opponents press high, his composure helps the Rapids avoid rushed clearances and keep possession meaningful. Set-piece defending also benefits because he stays locked in to the second phase, not just the first header. In tight matches, that calm presence can be the difference between hanging on and taking control.
